"Why, I'd as soon have a spit put through me, and be stuck upon a card in a collection of beetles, as lead the life I have been leading here" - Mr Meagles objecting to lockdown #LittleDorrit
Replying to @Dickens_Society: Little Dorrit really does have some of the most excellent lockdown quotes, doesn’t it?
BREAKING NEWS 🚨
an entire 800-year-old stained glass window from Canterbury Cathedral will be the centrepiece of the @britishmuseum's upcoming major exhibition on Thomas Becket

Yes - we're thrilled to be welcoming Michael Wood (@mayavision) onto the podcast. By far the best TV historian of all time and an unrivalled hero of mine, if that doesn't sound too soppy (and I don't care if it does). Questions about China please - anything at all!
“He had a weird appearance of having hanged himself at one time or other, and of having gone about ever since, halter and all, exactly as some timely hand had cut him down.”
There never was anyone like Dickens for fusing comedy with horror... #LittleDorrit
