It’s Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Let’s never forget that it is possible for a few people to inflict insane levels of pain and destruction, if they can manipulate careless citizens to give them more power & control.
The only thing we cannot tolerate is intolerance itself.
This year, let’s begin to honor Dr Martin Luther King Jr. by not taking his words and ideas out of context.
As white people we have inherited the curse of racism built into the very fabric of society, & it’s up to us to make the changes - to the systems, our minds & our hearts.
As you honor my father today, please honor my mother, as well. She was the architect of the King Legacy and founder of @TheKingCenter, which she founded less than three months after Daddy died. Without #CorettaScottKing, there would be no #MLKDay. #MLK #BelovedCommunity
Knowing that his successor opposes the death penalty, Donald Trump has rushed to execute as many people as possible before the transition. He has executed more individuals in weeks than had been federally executed in more than 60 years. Absolutely shameful. End the death penalty.
